A little background on me

I am an author, blogger, and speaker who is passionate about helping people live and tell better stories.

Originally from the Chicago suburbs, I now live in Tennessee with my wife, son, and dog.

For six and a half years, I worked for the nonprofit organization, Adventures in Missions, where I served as both Marketing Director and Communications Director.

As an award-winning blogger, I write several times a week for my blog and other publications. My writing has been featured on some of the most popular blogs on the Internet, including Copyblogger, Problogger, and Zen Habits (voted by TIME Magazine as one of the top 50 websites of 2008).

As an author, I write about how people’s lives can make a difference through the stories they live. My first print book, Wrecked: When a Broken World Slams into Your Comfortable Life (Moody Publishers), came out in August 2012. I also self-published the best-selling eBook, You Are a Writer, earlier in 2012. My next book, The In-Between, is a memoir about how the most important moments in life are the ones full of waiting. It releases in August 2013.

As a speaker and professional communicator, I’ve seen and experienced incredible stories of life change and redemption. And I consider it part of my life’s calling to share them.
