Want to Hear Me Speak?
Thanks for visiting my speaking page. Here, you'll find out more about me, my most-requested speaking topics, my schedule, and how to book me.
As a former marketing director and musician (in a former life), I understand the importance of captivating an audience. And like you, I've been on the receiving end of a message and felt bored, distracted, and frustrated.
That's why I don't take words for granted. As a communicator, I am especially aware of the need for speakers to connect with an audience and leave them with practical takeaways.
You have a big choice ahead of you. I hope this page helps you make it. I appreciate you taking the time to consider me for your event.
I'm represented by Premiere Speakers Bureau.

A little more about me
As a best-selling author author, award-winning blogger, and keynote speaker, I believe great ideas can change the world.
After working in the nonprofit sector as a marketing and communications director, I now write and speak full-time to inspire others to action with their lives.
An avid user of social media since 2006, I've trained tens of thousands of communicators to tell their stories online. Through my blog, online courses, and live events, I challenge people to make their messages matter and help them connect with their audiences.
I speak for a variety of audiences, including businesses, schools, conferences, churches, and nonprofit organizations. My speaking topics vary from writing and marketing to leadership and finding your purpose in life.
In 2011, 2012, and 2014, my blog was voted one of the “Top 10 Blogs on Writing” by WritetoDone.com, and my writing has been featured on some of the most popular blogs on the Internet, including Copyblogger, Problogger, and Zen Habits (voted by TIME Magazine as one of the top 50 websites of 2008).
I am the best-selling author of five books, including the recent national bestsellers The Art of Work and Real Artists Don't Starve.
