I hate networking. Maybe you do, too. The good news is that there is another way.
My best tip for networking is this: serve people.
In a world of self-centeredness that is obsessed with personal celebrity, we need more humility and generosity. We don’t need more “rock stars.” We need more servants.
It may be the only thing that can save us from ourselves.
Anyone who seeks to do work that matters will struggle with this at some point. It’s inevitable.
You will come to the point where the work is ready to be released into the world, where your art is ready to be shared.
And you will hesitate.
Someone asked me the other day how to market something on the Internet. It took me off-guard.
Is marketing on the web really that different from doing it offline? Well, yes…
Today, I’m pleased to have Chris Brogan on the blog for an exclusive interview. He agreed to answer some questions that I had, and I think you’ll find the responses interesting. I hope you enjoy and share it.
